Oscarowy sezon wystartował. Pierwsze nagrody przyznane
Film „Poprzednie życie” została zwycięzcą tegorocznej edycji rozdania Nagród Gotham. Produkcja otrzymała wyróżnienie dla najlepszego filmu fabularnego roku. W aktorskich kategoriach zwyciężyli natomiast Charles Melton za drugoplanową rolę w „May December” od platformy Netflix oraz Lily Gladstone, ale nie za swoją kreację w produkcji Martina Scorsese, a za główną rolę w „Nieznanym kraju”.
Najlepszymi serialami wybrano „Światełko”, produkcję opowiadającą historię Miep Gies ukrywającej podczas II wojny światowej rodzinę Ottona Franka oraz „Awanturę”. Pierwszy z seriali można oglądać na platformie Disney+, a drugi w serwisie Netflix. Gwiazda drugiej z produkcji, Ali Wong odebrała statuetkę za najlepszą rolę w serialu. Najlepszym filmem zagranicznym wybrano „Anatomię upadku”, którą nagrodzono też za scenariusz.
