Amerykańska Akademia Sztuki i Wiedzy Filmowej ogłosiła listę ponad 800 twórców ze świata filmu, których zaproszono do dołączenia w szeregi organizacji odpowiadającej między innymi za przyznawanie Oscarów, najważniejszych nagród w świecie przemysłu filmowego. Na liście znaleźli się także Polacy.
Akademia zaprosiła w sumie 819 twórców z całego świata, a na liście znalazło się pięć polskich nazwisk. W szeregi Akademii mogą wstąpić: reżyser Jan Komasa, scenarzysta Mateusz Pacewicz i montażysta Paweł Chruścielewski – cała trójka pracowała razem przy filmie „Boże ciało”, Magdalena Szwarcbart, reżyserka castingu pracująca przy filmach „Zimna wojna” i „Lista Schindlera”, a także Dorota Roqueplo, słynna kostiumografka, która miała swój udział przy tworzeniu produkcji „Miasto 44” i „Twój Vincent”.
Według wyliczeń Akademii w tym roku aż 49% wszystkich zaproszonych to osoby spoza Stanów Zjednoczonych. Na liście znaleźli się przedstawiciele 68 krajów, 45% zaproszonych stanowią kobiety, a 36% to osoby o innym kolorze skóry niż biały.
Z zagranicznych gwiazd zaproszenie od Akademii otrzymali między innymi: Awkwafina, Zazie Beetz, Zendaya Coleman, Mackenzie Davis, Eva Longoria, Thomasin McKenzie, Ben Mendelsohn, Florence Pugh, Lakeith Stanfield, John David Washington oraz Olivia Wilde.
